Melissa McGillen spent 25 years building a successful executive career with Williams before launching Rooted Leadership Consulting to pursue her passion for developing people and leaders. As a past executive with Williams, she led across engineering, operations, commercial, supply chain and enterprise functions, gaining firsthand experience navigating complexity, transformation and growth. Today, Melissa combines that executive perspective with a passion for helping others discover their potential.
Recognized as a “Gardener of People”, Melissa developed the Rooted Leadership framework to help individuals uncover their personality and values, leverage their natural strengths, and cultivate meaningful growth in their careers and their lives. Through coaching, she helps professionals build the self-awareness, resilience, and courage needed to thrive in changing environments.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and is a certified Hogan Assessments practitioner. A dedicated community leader, she has spent more than a decade serving nonprofit organizations focused on workforce development, community impact, and Type 1 diabetes research and advocacy, including board service with Breakthrough T1D and Goodwill Industries of Tulsa.
Through her work, Melissa inspires others to embrace the adventure of growth: honoring where they came from, recognizing what makes them strong, and reaching confidently toward what comes next.
